AN EXHIBITION THAT ADAPTS TO YOUR TERRITORY

 

 

This exhibition revolves around a photographic collection of more than 200 unpublished works by photographer Henri Dauman which was created during the month of photography at the Palais d'Iéna in Paris.

Depending on the themes and the location chosen to host The Manhattan Darkroom, the project is designed to allow local organizations, communities and even museums to receive an unprecedented cultural event for their residents and audiences.

It can be established in an already existing structure (media library, cultural and social center, heritage place, shopping center, local museum etc.) or be integrated into a new program, business and living space.

Bringing together hundreds of iconic works from the photographer's never published collection, this physical exhibition is an original cultural offer.
Free visit and / or in lecturer mode, the exhibition is particularly suitable for artistic and cultural education courses, events at the heart of business or at the center of a local community.

The works in this eclectic exhibition are unique and original. They amaze, surprise, challenge.

AN ENRICHED COLLECTION AT EACH VENUE

Originally created by Company Europea with the scientific support of the Nièpce Museum and the Muse association, the collection is enriched with prints or museum pieces for each venues. The affordable rental allows its preservation, its promotion and the acquisition of new works.

THE FREE VISITOR MODE

allows you to visit the exhibition with free access to all, by following the themes, by reading the cartels designed by the curators of the exhibition, by discovering the history and the contexts of shooting and possibly appreciating the video documentaries.

CONFERENCE MODE

allows themed and scheduled visits for groups. True moment of artistic and cultural education, it can be officiated by one of the curators.

We can also prepare mediation support for teachers and / or facilitators.

EDUCATIONAL BASIS

 

The life of photographer Henri Dauman is, in itself, a source of questioning, clarification and unpublished testimony. As the witnesses of these periods disappear, it is important to return to events which are the memory base of our current society.

Whether for schoolchildren, high school students or academics, "The Manhattan Darkroom" is an inexhaustible source of subjects that are at once playful, historical, of political and media science but also a new imagery on the history of the art of 20th century all disciplines combined.

 

"The Manhattan Darkroom - Henri Dauman Photographies" is not just an exhibition of beautiful images but a scientific collection telling, over more than 30 years, the construction of the world today.
